Taking the Boat Out May 29, 2009

Well today was really nice out and I didn’t have anything to do after going to the post office so My dad & brother talked me into taking the boat out to make sure that it still runs. After getting it in the water it took us about an hour to get the darn thing started since it hadn’t been used in about two years. We thought that we would have to give up & go back home but we’re very stubborn people and kept on trying until it finally came to life. After that we kind of just drove a few times around Lake Byllesby. Suprisingly for such a nice day the lake was pretty dead and there were maybe only 5 other boats out there with us. At least I finally got some sun and hopefully didn’t burn anywhere. Lately I’ve been mostly in the house because I’m either making jewelry or posting it on etsy, or just browsing the web or watching a movie. Normally I would take advantage of sunny days and lay out on the trampoline but a storm mangled it last year and it’s sadly no longer with us.

Eric & Gracie. This was Gracie’s first time on a boat and she was very good about it. Poor Luke didn’t come along because he’s always the one that gets to go on little trips so this was Gracie’s turn.

Okay, so Jessie seems to think that I’m only into “latino” guys which isn’t true, and no they don’t have to have dark features. So here’s some guys that are my “type”.

Uhmmm, okay, I guess most to all of my “type” have dark features & I just proved myself wrong but what woman’s type isn’t tall dark & handsome?

Oh, and for you girls that like men in suits I found this tumblr : fuckyeahmeninsuits.tumblr.com

One of my jewelry pieces finally got featured in an Etsy treasury! It always makes me feel a little bit better about myself when someone likes something that I made. It makes me feel like I’ve actually done something right.

Here’s a link to the treasury: Delightful Daisies

100 mile garage sale May 5, 2009

Well, it sure looks like I’ve been neglecting this blog since it’s been well over a month since my last post but I guess that’s all for a reason those close to me know. Life hasn’t been too great to me lately and I hope that’ll change soon.

Anyways, this past Friday night I drove up to Jessie’s place to sleep over so that we could get up bright and early and meet over at Rachel’s house at 7:30 am to go to the 100 mile garage sale. Let me tell you, that was quite an adjustment for me since I set my alarm for 6am and that’s usually the time I’m falling asleep (pretty bad, I know). So it felt like I was just beginning to drift off when my alarm turned on. crap. I think I need to invest in some sleeping pills! There were a few times that day that I felt like I was simply going to tip over and have a nice nap right there on the ground. We ended up traveling down to Red Wing, Lake City, Pepin, & Wabasha and then crossed back over to the Wisconsin side. In one of the first towns we stopped at a church sale where I found an old vintage Singer sewing machine & it was love at first sight! It was so beautiful, sleek black with gold details including an Egyptian sphinx. It was in perfect condition (no rust or scratches!) and came with the cabinet & hood. I shouldn’t have walked away from it but I didn’t think that my dad would’ve wanted to drive down to get it and there was also the issue of where to put it once it got home. I’m just really bummed out about it because when I got home I looked it up on the internet & that made me want it even more. Oh well. Other than that my favorite purchase of the day was a soup cup that I got for 50 cents because I much prefer eating out of a cup with a handle on it opposed to eating out of a bowl with no handle so a soup cup is the perfect comprimise (or best invention ever).
